I can't say that I'm shocked.  This guy gleefully sold-out democracy and continues to deny there was anything wrong with that.  How fitting that he chose to be on a quality NBC program that is the intellectual equivalent of incest.   Shame on both of them, but can't say I'm surprised.

He spends the fall openly conducting an auction for Obama's now vacant Senate seat and gets caught on tape complaining about not getting his asking price.

As usual with clearly guilty and appallingly shameless politicians, he goes into a cocoon with his attorneys for days to work out his strategy -- and a good one it turns out to be!  He holds the obligatory press conference to proclaim his innocence to the media.   Probably to counter the expletive filled phone-tap, he spouts a bit of poetry so we'll all think he's a swell fellow.   Awe - we're all shedding tears now for the poor misunderstood little darling!   Meanwhile, Harry Reid and Obama try to take the high road by openly and adamantly rejecting any Senate appointment that Blago may try to make.  

Despite this, and calls for his resignation, Blago joyfully jogs on each morning in front of the cameras?   Now we know why.  He soon pulls an ace card / race card from the nether regions of his black spandex like the disgraced politician / magician he is.   His appointment of the conveniently same-race Burris befuddles the detractors in his own party, who after a bit of tap dancing and a mini civil rights protest at the Capitol, all of a sudden see no problem with giving Burris the seat and Blago the satisfaction of a well executed slight-of-hand.

Now, Blago's own attorney has left him as his impeachment proceedings begin?  Why?  Because Blago has chosen to reject the legal, democratic procedure totally and instead run to the loving arms of guess who?  The media.   Brilliant.  Why deal with the facts when you can go on The View, Larry King, GMA, etc. and pawn your bunk on the masses.   Hey, it worked for Britney, right?   So what other interesting revelations come to light as a result of these interviews?   Just today's announcement , among other shameful statements in this article, that he at one time considered giving the seat to Oprah but didn't because he thought it might come across as a gimmick?    No kidding.  And how about the fact that she's never held an elected position in her life, preferring instead the title of Living Deity?

But we should not be surprised by all of this.  The Democrats, the supposed party of the under-served masses, have shown quite openly these past few weeks that positions of power go to those with the correct skin color, family name, and friendly finances.   Blago is obviously just playing a game that is part of a well-established machine.  But for doing so, getting caught, and proclaiming to be a martyr, he clearly has No Shame!
