President Obama, in yet another gaffe demonstrating his utter ignorance and arrogance, recently chose to speak out about the legal righteousness of the proposed Ground Zero mosque. His seemingly incessant need to impress the rest of the world is proven and well known. But the fact that he thinks this is a legal issue is evidence of his blind apathy to the pain that much of this nation still holds in its heart for the victims of 9/11. Nobody debates the legal right of the mosque to be built there. What people of reason object to is that it is in poor taste, at best, and at worst it will be a symbol of triumph for enemies that are still actively engaged in trying to kill us. Mr. Obama, this is not law school and you are not a law professor. You are supposedly the leader of a free world that is engaged in a very real war against a barbarically violent, thoroughly intolerant, form of radical Islam. Instead of playing for applause and ego-stroking in front of a Muslim audience, act like the voice of a still-hurting nation and strongly encourage that this mosque be built elsewhere. Until you do so, you continue to prove yourself unfit for office.

Write Hope ...

The Law of Unintended Consequences is often cited by economists to demonstrate how one seemingly good theory, applied without forethought of all implications to an ecosytem, can cause unintended and often negative results. When theory is corrupted by blind ideology, this Law becomes a potential economic disaster, as evidenced by this report from the inspector general on the BO administration's recent "bailout" of several troubled automakers. Now that the cold, clear light of data is exposing the economic Three-Card Monty game perpetrated on the unfortunate automakers and the American people, righteous rage against BO's ongoing war against business is indeed justified. As these automakers continue to struggle under the micro-management of politicians, and the unceasing pressure of union entitlments, perhaps the consequences are not so unintended.

This antipathy toward corporate America should come as no surprise from an administration staffed primarily by lawyers and academics -- almost none of whom have any experience managing a business, employees, and profit objectives. Remember this as the job market continues to stagnate -- which will likely still be the case come November.

Border Patrol Agent Speaks Out

BELOW IS A LEAKED LETTER FROM A RETIRED BORDER PATROL AGENT:

This letter sent to Tennessee Senator Bill Frist from a retired border patrol agent,
and it has more common sense than all the bull being spewed from the Senate,
with the exception of a few sensible representatives.

Dear Senator Frist:

There is a huge amount of propaganda and myths circulating about illegal aliens,
particularly illegal Mexican, Salvadorian, Guatemalan and Honduran aliens.

#1. Illegal aliens generally do NOT want US citizenship. Americans are very vain
thinking that everybody in the world wants to be a US citizen. Mexicans, and
other nationalities want to remain citizens of their home countries while obtaining
the benefits offered by the United States such as employment, medical care,
instate tuition, government subsidized housing and free education for their
offspring. Their main attraction is employment and their loyalty usually remains
at home. They want benefits earned and subsidized by middle class Americans.
What illegal aliens want are benefits of American residence without paying
the price.

#2. There are no jobs that Americans won't do. Illegal aliens are doing jobs
that Americans can't take and still support their families. Illegal aliens take
low wage jobs, live dozens in a single residence home, share expenses and
send money to their home country. There are no jobs that Americans won't
do for a decent wage.

#3. Every person who illegally entered this nation left a home. They are NOT
homeless and they are NOT Americans. Some left jobs in their home countries.
They come to send money to their real home as evidenced by the more than 20
billion dollars sent out of the country each year by illegal aliens. These illegal
aliens knowingly and willfully entered this nation in violation of the law and
therefore assumed the risk of detection and deportation. Those who brought their
alien children assumed the responsibility and risk on behalf of their children.

#4. Illegal aliens are NOT critical to the economy. Illegal aliens constitute less
than 5% of the workforce. However, they reduce wages and benefits for lawful
US residents.

#5. This is NOT an immigrant nation. There are 280 million native born
Americans. While it is true that this nation was settled and founded by
immigrants (legal immigrants), it is also true that there is not a nation on
this planet that was not settled by immigrants at one time or another.

#6. The United States is welcoming to legal immigrants. Illegal aliens are not
immigrants by definition. The US accepts more lawful immigrants every year
than the rest of the world combined.

#7. There is no such thing as the "Hispanic vote." Hispanics are white, brown,
black and every shade in between. Hispanics are Republicans, Democrats,
Anarchists, Communists, Marxists and Independents. The so-called "Hispanic
vote" is a myth. Pandering to illegal aliens to get the Hispanic vote is a dead end.

#8. Mexico is NOT a friend of the United States . Since 1848 Mexicans have
resented the United States . During World War I Mexico allowed German Spies
to operate freely in Mexico to spy on the US . During World War II Mexico
allowed the Axis powers to spy on the US from Mexico . During the Cold War
Mexico allowed spies hostile to the US to operate freely. The attack on the Twin
Towers in 2001 was cheered and applauded all across Mexico . Today Mexican
school children are taught that the US stole California , Arizona , New Mexico
and Texas . If you don't believe it, check out some Mexican textbooks written
for their school children.

#9. Although some illegal aliens enter this country for a better life, there are 6
billion people on this planet. At least 1 billion of those live on less than one
dollar a day. If wanting a better life is a valid excuse to break the law and sneak
into America , then let's allow those one billion to come to America and we'll turn
the USA into a Third World nation overnight. Besides, there are 280 million native
born Americans who want a better life. I'll bet Bill Gates and Donald Trump want
a better life. When will the USA lifeboat be full? Since when is wanting a better
life a good reason to trash another nation?

#10. There is a labor shortage in this country. This is a lie. There are hundreds
of thousands, if not millions, of American housewives, senior citizens, students,
unemployed and underemployed who would gladly take jobs at a decent wage.

#11. It is racist to want secure borders. What is racist about wanting secure
borders and a secure America ? What is racist about not wanting people to sneak
into America and steal benefits we have set aside for legal aliens, senior citizens,
children and other legal residents? What is it about race that entitles people to
violate our laws, steal identities, and take the American Dream without paying
the price? For about four decades American politicians have refused to secure
our borders and look after the welfare of middle class Americans. These
politicians have been of both parties. A huge debt to American society has
resulted. This debt will be satisfied and the interest will be high. There has
already been riots in the streets by illegal aliens and their supporters. There will
be more. You, as a politician, have a choice to offend the illegal aliens who have
stolen into this country and demanded the rights afforded to US citizens or to
offend those of us who are stakeholders in this country. The interest will be steep
either way. There will be civil unrest. There will be a reckoning. Do you have the
courage to do what is right for America ? Or, will you bow to the wants and needs
of those who don't even have the right to remain here? There will be a reckoning.

It will come in November of this year, again in 2012 and yet again in 2014.

We will not allow America to be stolen by third world agitators and thieves.

The astounding ignorance, arrogance, and hypocrisy of the left knows no bounds. First, recall the incessant attacks on the Bush administration by the left for supposedly shredding the Constitution. Now step back into the present day, where we have Democrats on a regular basis, on-camera and in-print, openly admitting that they don't know and don't care about the Constitution.

Today's exhibit A comes from the mayors of Chicago and Philadelphia -- two of the most perpetually far-left and far-gone municipal governments in the nation. Mayor Daley of Chicago has been trying to eradicate the 2nd Amendment rights of that city's citizens for a long time despite being defeated continually in the courts. Now, in a move that can truly and un-rhetorically be described as un-American, Daley is appealing for a "redress against the gun industry" to the World Court in the Netherlands! Let's say that again: a US city mayor is appealing to an international court to help destroy a US Constitutional right. His ally in ignorance is Philadelphia Mayor Nutter, leader of a city that recently saw 6 policemen murdered in 18 months by repeat offenders. Nutter's claim that, "I have a First Amendment right not to be shot" is a joke -- and he's the butt of it.

The alarming thing here is not that two mayors of two cities that have been controlled by the left for decades are blaming decades of unabated violent crime in their cities on guns instead of criminals. The troubling part is that they, like others of their party in Congress and the White House, are openly flouting the Constitutional rights of each American -- and doing so with a smile. I'd suggest these people read the Constitution, especially the parts clearly stating that the rights described in it ARE NOT given by the government, but are indeed endowed to US citizens by our creator. And, we citizens have the right, indeed the obligation, to undo any government that tries to deny our liberties from us. Be warned.

There is an old saying that goes, "All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing." To that, I would add "...and for good men to forget everything" as a timely update for our sad and challenging era.

What has happened in this country with the first year of the BO / Pelosi / Reid debacle is reason enough to remember the damage they have done come November. But tonight I am speaking of the despicable case of the Lockerbie bomber. Remember him? The convicted Libyan terrorist who blew hundreds of innocents out of the sky decades ago, jailed only recently, then freed by Scottland on "humanitarian" grounds because his death was imminent and welcomed home by Kadaffi as a hero, just celebrated his 58th birthday. Over 5 months after doctors said he would be dead, he celebrated his miraculous recovery with family, friends, and government officials.

Just because the story has lapsed from main-stream news coverage, we must not forget. The forces of evil are celebrating today and the souls of long-departed victims and their families are screaming for justice. We should remember the failure of the human justice system and take solace in the fact that the ultimate judge of us all will someday render justice.

Write Hope ...

On the eve of a vote on a welf-care bill that is truly historic in its potential to transform this country in a catastrophic way, I'm getting a sick feeling in my stomach. The cause of my malady is not just because I'm fearing that soon I'll have to pay enormous rates to for what doctors are left to treat my tummy. It is because I am student of history and I cannot help that an extremely recent disaster is about to repeat itself, and a large portion of the population remains ignorant of this. I am far from a finance or health insurance expert, but I feel the parallels between the two are frighteningly obvious.

Take a trip in time back to the Clinton administration -- a time when the government interfered with an industry that nobody likes but everybody needs in the name of "social justice". As the economy and the real-estate market enjoyed a boom, some in Congress thought it was a good idea to "share the wealth" by forcing / strongly encouraging banks to drop mortgage qualification standards. The result, banks ignored their risk management obligations, gave mortgages to people who could not afford them, and triggered a near meltdown of our entire economic system just a couple of years ago. The banks got the blame. The government got to take most of them over, at our expense.

Now, in the midst of the long, slow, and uncertain recovery from this near disaster, many leaders of this country seem determined to steer the car back towards the cliff. The BO administration, which has spent the better part of its time vilifying the health insurance industry -- one that nobody likes, but everybody needs -- is poised to pass legislation that will essentially destroy it. How? By manipulating the process of risk management that is a fundamental component of how health insurance -- in fact, any insurance -- works. Everyone agrees that insurance companies denying coverage for pre-existing conditions and dropping sick policy holders is bad, but these are all tenets of underwriting -- the type of risk management an insurance company must do in order to survive and keep making those obscene profits of 2% - 3%. BO keeps saying that we can keep our current insurance company if we like it, but he fails to explain how they will stay in business to serve customers when the government is setting the rules of the game. Everyone also agrees that the rapid growth in the cost of insurance premiums for individuals and businesses alike is unsustainable. But I fail to understand how BO's plan will bring down these costs. Government regulation in any business drives up cost. And the fact is, health insurance is already one of the most regulated industries, with state and federal laws governing many of their practices and inhibiting competition.

What BO, Pelosi and Reid are pushing is an expansion of the welfare state, plain and simple. The last time liberals tried to "spread the wealth around" the result was near disaster, and a large bill we taxpayers will bear for decades. If history repeats during tomorrow's vote, all of our tomorrows will look a lot like our recent yesterdays.

Write Hope ...

Glenn Beck has been the favorite target of the pro-BO media for some time now, so it is no wonder that they cherry-picked his comments at the CPAC convention last night to fit the left wing viewpoint.

If you watched the network news coverage, you would have heard Beck's clip calling-out the problems of the Republican Party and though that was the focus of his speech. Funny isn't it how, when Beck goes after BO, he is a wacko that the media mocks with misquotes. But when he critiques the GOP, it is worthy of national news coverage.

What the media didn't cover, of course, was the rest of the speech in which Beck detailed his perspective on the ills of this nation as only he can. Chief among these issues: the decline in personal responsibility that is being fed by the expansion of government -- a death spiral of failed progressive philosophy that is eroding our country. Beck is thriving not just because he is entertaining, but because he articulates in plain-speak the core ills of this nation that run much deeper than party politics.

If the lame-stream media would ever realize this and cover him honestly, perhaps they could avoid their own steady decline into irrelevance.

On a day when we in America are surrounded by commercialized reminders to celebrate romantic love, let us also celebrate expressions of the deepest love man is capable of giving, happening on the other side of the world right now. Today, NATO forces, led mostly by the US Marine Corps, are taking it to the Taliban in the biggest offensive there since the start of the war. This hard, often dirty fighting, is being done by young men and women thousands of miles from their family, friends, and sweethearts. They are entering and taking territory held by people that want to maintain and expand a barbaric, truly stone age, culture and theocracy.

Critics have had plenty of time to deride our presence here using vagaries and political rhetoric. So, here's a quick reminder of what our troops are fighting against. The Taliban, an ultra-extreme Islamic group, abused the people of Afghanistan, removing their freedoms, and inflicting their backward laws upon them. The Taliban routinely executed people publicly for violating these laws -- including many women who had the audacity to show their faces or be seen with men in public. And, the Taliban harbored Bin Laden and Al Queda for years while they planned and executed terrorist attacks all over the world, including 9/11. The cynics who forget why we fight, or cannot clearly see the end objective, need to consider the consequences of millions of people being plunged back into the dark ages after they were so close to the light.

For our Marines, there is even greater clarity. For those in the hell storm and misery of war, discussions of politics and ideology are privileges they don't enjoy at the moment, but are gifts they bestow upon us and the people of Afghanistan. As they brave bullets and bombs, they do so not only for their brothers in arms, but for strangers now alive as well as unborn generations. And in that effort, they take their place in a long line of Marines over the years that have done the same. To paraphrase the divinely-inspired quote: "There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for another."

Thank you, Marines. We love you, too.

Write Hope ...

The truth is much different and needs to be heard. The War on Terror is the most unconventional of wars, with enemies that are unique to no country, absolute in their resolve, and proven willing killers of innocent people.
Such a war simply cannot be won by soldiers on front lines because front lines are becoming less relevant. This war needs the dedicated service men and women of the CIA. They are the ones who do the hard and usually unknown work of intelligence gathering and sometimes the quick-strike force needed to dispatch killers to their supposed paradise. According to this article, the CIA did just that last month -- a fitting response to the attack on their own by a Taliban double-agent. So, to our brave agents in the field, please know there are people that know the truth of what you do everyday and are glad you do it so well. Good luck sending more Al Qaeda employees to hell.

Today might be the day when Americans began to take their country back. Tonight, votes in Massachusetts will be counted (hopefully only once) to determine who gets the open Senate seat. On one side, a Democrat who has committed more verbal gaffes in two weeks than Sarah Palin has in two years. A woman who clearly expects to win simply because she is a Democrat. On the other side, a virtually unknown Republican who has campaigned hard and honestly that his main qualification is his intent to stop Obamacare.

Tomorrow, regardless of the outcome, BO, Pelosi and friends will insist nothing has changed and continue with their determined efforts in absolute rejection of the will of the American people. Allow me to once again try and burst their bubble of oblivion by listing just a couple things that have changed.

#1 – Americans want to live in a democracy, not a monarchy. Regardless of what the media says, the open Senate seat in Massachusetts does not belong to the Kennedy’s. It does not belong to the Democrats. It belongs to the people of the state and they decide who sits in it. Their apparent willingness to elect a Republican in this solidly Democratic state speaks volumes about how fed up people are with the elitist, entitlement mentality that the Dems so openly flaunt. And this applies to Caroline in NY state, Burris in IL, and any other Dem who thinks they can get a seat in government simply because of their name or the color of their skin.

#2 – Americans want their representatives to represent them. Revolutionary concept, isn’t it? You people in the White House and Congress did not get a mandate to become our parents, forcing us to accept what you think is good for us. Your job is to do our will and you are clearly not. Last November’s elections should have taught you that, but you obviously do not care about our will.

#3 – Americans do not want Obamacare.

#4 – See #3.

Let’s hope Scott Brown’s election is the start of a new American Revolution; a rebirth of the Bunker Hill spirit where patriotic Americans, in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds, take a stand and start to reverse the damage done to our democracy in the past year.

Write Hope ...

BO's Attorney General Eric Holder, when he took office, accused Americans of being cowards for not having "honest" dialogues about race. I wonder how he is enjoying the tragi-comedy surrounding Sen. Harry Reid's comments about BO made during the 2008 campaign? The ongoing drama can be summed up as such: What he said was not racist -- however -- it is perceived as such in modern America ruled by political correctness -- however -- because Reid is a liberal Democrat he is granted forgiveness when none is necessary -- a clear double-standard. The comedy continues now, as Reid not only called BO to apologize, but also to other "black leaders" like Rev. Al Sharpton (a proven liar and professional racist).

This whole incident has exposed the absurdity of modern race relations; a political game cloaked in a moral struggle. The fact that the left for years has jumped on every real and perceived incident of racism coming from the right, grinding the careers and lives of many decent people into the ground, and now proclaims one of their own innocent in the face of similar comments, proves the existence of the racism business. Pros like Rev Al and Jesse Jackson have profited and gained power for years by flaming the fires of hatred and division. They have no interest in the true betterment of African Americans. They want people to fear saying the wrong thing and being accused of racism. The reaction of these guys and their political colleagues on the left shines the light of reason on the ridiculous games they continue to play to the detriment of this country. Until then, there will be no honest dialogue on the topic of race in America.

Write Hope ...

While most of us were celebrating Christmas with family and friends, a Nigerian man came close to blowing up a plane with hundreds of people on it as it approached Detroit. What first alarmed me was that this story was barely mentioned in the 11 pm newscasts that night, at least the ones I was watching. What has become quite infuriating is the growing list of evidence that this attempted mass murderer was "known" and should never had a visa, let alone have been on this plane with a bomb.

Watch this interview today with DHS Secretary Napolitano and see if you feel, as do I, that she and the administration are trying to make excuses for an inexcusable incident. First, she lauds the face that "everything went according to clockwork" after the incident happened -- AFTER being the critical word. The BEFORE is the critical part, with the failure to spot and screen a person who was on a terrorist watch list. So while Ms. Napolitano pats the responders on the back, she and the entire intelligence network should be screaming for answers as to why this KNOWN threat was only stopped from blowing hundreds of humans from the sky by a faulty detonator and the quick action of a heroic passenger.

To futher infuriate, she and Press Secretay Gibbs both went on to cite numerous times that the watch list is composed of over 500,000 names -- implying that somehow the very size of the list renders it too large to be of value. I am no expert on terrorism or security technology, but I have a modicum of experience with business databases and lists. As such, I know for a fact that modern computers used by commercial businesses can search through a list of this size and find an individual record in seconds, if not minutes. To think that the DHS, TSA, and FBI cannot do the same to plane passengers is bunk that Gibbs and Napolitano should be ashamed for slinging. Their obvious ignorance of facts and very real threats smacks of the same ineptitude displayed thus far by the BO administration.

With the first terrorist attack since 9/11 happening in Texas just weeks ago, one that could have been anticipated if available data on the suspect was recognized and acted upon, our collective patience for further pathetic repsonses to threats should be zero. Once again, I feel the need to state the obvious gained from my experience over years in business and marketing: Profiling works, whether you are trying to find customers or killers. Stop searching grandmas and start searching young men of middle eastern and African descent or nationality, especially those already on TERROR WATCH LISTS! Political correctness in American needs to be killed before it kills more Americans.

Write Hope ...

Dan would Rather you don't defend yourself

Remember Dan Rather? Since he lost his job at CBS for presiding over a knowingly false news story on 60 Minutes in 2004 that was designed to paint George W Bush as a draft-dodger, Dan has been in exile on HDNet. Here, he's free to keep posing as an objective journalist, passing off his one-hour "Dan Rather Report" position pieces as news stories.

I just finished watching his "report" on the Castle Doctrine -- the recent law, passed now in most states in the union, that protects a citizens right to defend himself and his or her property with deadly force. Dan's report essentially consisted of around 5 stories of extreme cases where the law was taken to the extreme and criminals were shot and killed while fleeing. Such examples were used to support Dan's point that the law is leading to vigilante justice and anarchy in the streets. Of course, there was plenty of commentary from smart folks at Harvard that attributed passage of such laws to our new paranoid ,post 9/11 culture. The most comical comment: "If you exercise the right to use deadly force in self-defense, you have to prove that your fear is reasonable." I'll remember to stop and consider that the next timee a burglar is heading up the stairs to my bedroom.

Let this non-Harvard educated correct them. Yes, many of us are concerned for our safey after 9/11. But we are even more concerned about being killed by local criminals that have no qualms about killing police offers. And if we are lucky enough to turn the tables, we get to look forward to prosecution by twisted attorneys, and persecution by criminal-loving left-wingers in the media. The only good comment on this program came from the female former head of the NRA responsible for the first Castle Law passing in Florida. She reminded Dan that people thought that they already had the protections bestowed in the Castle Doctrine, when in fact they did not. This new law is providing clarity, not adding to confusion. Nobody wants to shoot shoplifters as Dan suggests. What we do want is for the laws to protect the people who react to preserve their lives, rather than those who initiate the chain of events that brings danger to all.

Not once in this program did Dan ever actually define what the law states in full. And not once did Dan cite examples where citizens acted properly within the new law (I've read about many). Selecting facts to fit your position is not news. It is "advocacy journalism" at best, but more like propaganda. Perhaps if Dan understood this, he'd still have his job at CBS.

Write Hope ...

Here's the difference between liberals and conservatives. The former are blinded by their hatred of the right so much that they can never, ever admit any good done by any Republican. Case in point: GW Bush was excoriated by the left no matter what he did for his entire 8 year term. Conservatives, on the other hand, do not let partisan loyalty usurp their sense of reason. I'll be the first to admit that Bush made many mistakes, but he also did some, in fact many good things for which he received no credit.

So, in light of today's critically important, Republican-sponsored bill to regulate the vital process of college football playoffs, I openly offer my scorn to Rep. Joe Barton (R) and all those of both parties (including BO) that supported this utter waste of taxpayers' time. I understand many Americans are passionate about college football but, like steroids in baseball, we should not invite goverment expansion into a private enterprise -- especially one that has absolutely no bearing on the economic health or national security of this nation. All of you "representatives" at all levels of government had better wake up fast: stop wasting our time or we will make sure you have plenty of free time come next election.

His statement is so idiotic that it doesn't deserve the energy expenditure of my fingers to finish typing this. But let me just add a little history lesson for Reid and his factually-challenged friends: Lincoln was a Republican. Most of the slave-supporting southerners were Democrats. Mr. Reid has no shame and no brains either.

Write Hope ...
