BO waffles on war fighting

This week's deliberations over the direction in the war in Afghanistan exemplifies why BO is an unfit commander-in-chief, and why the Democrats long-have and long-will be known as the party that is clueless about national defense and military matters.
Recall that BO campaigned hard about Bush's failures in this war; how victory in Afghanistan was so crucial, and how he was the one who could lead us to final victory there. And what has he done since getting into office? He has appeared on every TV show that will have him (all), acted as failed salesman for Obamacare and an Olympics in Chicago, vacationed in the Vineyard, but apparently been too busy to talk to his commanding general in-country more than once. Now, with that general stressing the urgency of the situation and the need for more troops to help those already risking and losing their lives there, BO and his buddies need more time to talk about it.
And talk he did today with Congressional leaders. BO is insisting on taking time to think things over, deciding what his strategy is. Great. I'm sure our under-staffed troops involved in firefights right now are real happy he's doing this. Let me be clear -- I'm not against the President taking time to make careful decisions in military matters. After all, he has zero experience in this area and should get many opinions, especially from his generals. But he should have done this the day he got into office -- even before -- in fulfillment of his campaign posturing. After finally waking up to his duties in this regard, apparently BO is looking for a compromise solution that doesn't give the general the full troop increase he wants, but also doesn't involve pulling troops out. This is classic waffling -- trying to appease all his constituents at the expense of the correct solution. In response, Sen. McCain so aptly stated: "Half measures is what I worry about." And he's right. Liberals are quick to compare any conflict to Vietnam, including this one. They should understand this: the real reason we lost in Vietnam is not because we lost all their hearts and minds to the commies (why would millions of Vietnamese have fled the country in fear of them if we did?). We lost primarily because politicians would not let the military win. They fought with gloved hands and restrictive rules of engagement that let our enemies endure while putting our troops at a constant disadvantage despite having the best military in the world. It was immoral then, as it is now, to have troops fighting and dying the in the field and not give them what they need -- what their commanders request -- to achieve victory. The time to debate why we are there is long past. We are there.
BO -- you've already said this war is worth fighting and winning. Prove it. Give the general the troops he needs right now, or pull ground forces out completely. The choice is that simple. To equivocate is to embolden our enemies, extend the uncertainty, and prove to your many detractors that you are nothing more than a Celebrity-In-Chief.
