Right Hope

Another lesson of history is sadly repeating itself today.   Every dictatorship in modern times has, as its first step in seizing power, sought to take control of the media.   In every coup, it is the radio and TV stations that armed forces grab control of first.  The goal: to install a single, puppet "news" source that is merely a propaganda vehicle for the party line.    Such tactics are a prime reason why mass populations in Germany, Russia, and elsewhere were seduced into accepting evil acts by their leaders that ultimately led to their own destruction.

A disturbing parallel is happening right now in the BO administration.   When Van Jones, a high-level BO czar, was exposed by Fox News as the racist, communist, truther he unashamedly is, there were accusations of racism, etc. leveled at Fox in the usual attempts to silence and discredit.  Yet, the truth about Jones was out and unignorable, thus forcing his resignation.   One would think this revelation would wake-up the rest of the mainstream media -- all of which failed to pick-up the story until the last minute.   So when White House Communications Director Anita Dunn recently attacked Fox as an arm of the Republican party, you'd think other news outlets would at least show some concern about the President trying to silence the press.    But the lessson is clear:   if you want to keep enjoying the cozy relationship with BO, with lots of charming interviews granted, you'd better provide favorable coverage and not make waves like Fox.

Such scoldings tell friends and foes alike that BO is beyond critique.  It makes even this convervative think, just for a brief second, that maybe there is an element of paranoia and persecution at play from the right.  Maybe Fox is too harsh.   After all, BO isn't stupid -- he wouldn't knowingly employee staff members like Jones, would he?    And as I'm evaluating my own beliefs and having a moment of doubt, thank God for Glenn Beck confronting us with this hard bit of truth:

Anita Dunn, the woman leading the BO attack on free speech, cites the #2 mass murderer in history, Mao Tse-Tung as her favorite philosopher.  Every American needs to watch this video and be alarmed, enraged, scared.   

Another history lesson to recall:   When Nikita Kruschev threatened the US with eventual take-over by communists decades ago, he said they would do so by getting into the minds of our children.  Well guess what:  those children have grown and are now in residence at the White House.   Somewhere in hell, Mao and Kruschev are laughing.
