Right Hope

Why are 13 soldiers and civilians dead and many more injured at the hand of a US Army Major?  That is the question that many in the media are asking after last week's mass murder at Ft. Hood.   And that would be a reasonable question if all the other mitigating circumstances are completely ignored, as the mainstream media often chooses to do in cases involving Islamic terrorism.  Even when the emerging evidence is clear, for some insane reason, many in this country are adamant in their defense of our enemies -- the Islamic radicals who have killed thousands in the past decade and continue to wage war against us within our own borders.   While they plot our murder, American politicians and media leaders seem resolute not in their desire to defeat them, but in their desire not to hurt their feelings in any way by daring to confront them with the truth.   What did BO say in response to this terrorist act?    He expressed concern about an anti-Muslim backlash (even though such incidents after 9/11 were rare) and warned us not to "jump to conclusions" (though BO had no problem jumping to conclusions that Cambridge police were racist and "acted stupidly" before he knew the facts in that recent case).  

So, when the media and our elected officials finally decide to do their job, here are some questions that they might want to ask:

Why was Hasan a Major and a psychiatrist in the US Army if he was on record multiple times with anti-American / pro-terrorist remarks?   Why were the warnings of his colleagues and fellow soldiers ignored?   Why was Hasan simply transferred  and not booted from the Army?  Was anyone at all concerned that he studied at the same radical US-based mosque at the same time as some of the 9/11 hijackers?   Why are we admitting Muslims into the Armed Services without thorough background checks?   There are 13+ families that would like some honest answers.   

And...why have we still not learned the lesson of 9/11 that our enemies are exploiting political correctness against us?   They are counting on the fact that we ignore obvious information, refuse to jump to obvious conclusions, and fail to cast blame their way even in the face of obvious evidence.   And now, once again, the deadly results of our collective ignorance are all too obvious.
